Territorial Interludes
An evening of readings at Tenderbooks that invites six London-based artists into a conversation around an expanded vision of landscape conjured through the use of text in their practices. With contributions by Rebecca Bellantoni, Caspar Heinemann, Jasleen Kaur, Rebecca Lennon, Imani Robinson and Jala Wahid.
The tone of the evening nods to Ingrid Pollard’s 1988 photographic series Pastor al Interludes. The series takes the idealised British rural landscape as a site from which to consider constructions of authenticity, place and identity – exploring how these formulations foster alienation, fragmentation and otherness, a subject to contend with that feels eerily relevant once again.
